Job Description

The Ohio Musculoskeletal & Neurological Institute (OMNI) at Ohio University is undergoing a targeted expansion to complement and expand the research activities of OMNI scientists. Our expansion includes the hiring of several additional faculty and the construction of a new physical facility for OMNI on the Athens Campus. We seek to hire 2 full-time tenured or tenure-track faculty members at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor (i.e., open rank). OMNI's overarching mission is to improve the treatment, prevention and diagnosis of musculoskeletal and neurological disorders, and as such we seek applications from outstanding scientists working within this scope.

Preference will be given to individuals who perform research that will strengthen one of OMNI's two current programmatic research foci: 1) pain disorders and 2) healthy aging. OMNI currently has five principal investigators with an outstanding track record of NIH funding, and we seek to increase our critical mass of extramurally-funded scientists. Accordingly, the primary responsibility of the successful candidate will be to establish and maintain an extramurally-funded research program that produces high impact scholarly activity. The protected time for research will be high for these positions (e.g., 80+%). The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in medical and graduate education programs.
