Distinguished Clinical Investigator Award

The Distinguished Clinical Investigator Award is to honor a clinical scientist with outstanding contribution to the field of clinical management of musculoskeletal diseases including surgical management, therapeutics, epidemiology, health-services research and clinical outcomes. The awardees should be established Investigators who are at the full professor level.

Nominee Criteria

The nominee:

  • Must be an ICMRS life-time member in good standing;
  • Has made significant contribution(s) and impacts toward clinical management of musculoskeletal diseases including surgical management, therapeutics, epidemiology and health-services research or clinical outcomes over the last five years;
  • Be national and international recognized;
  • Contribute to the research environment of their current institution;
  • Made contributions as a mentor and colleague.

Nomination process

  • Self nomination plus one additional life-time members to ratify;
  • Nomination process must address the following nominee criteria (<1500 words) with attached CV and top 10 best publications:

1. Contribution to clinical research with evidence of impact;

2. Mentorship.

  • A recent CV and Biosketch of the nominee (<50 pages).

Selection of the Award Recipient

To nominate, please send a letter of nomination and nominee’s CV to the Chair of Nomination Committee of ICMRS. The selection of the Award recipient will be made by the ICMRS nomination committee. Reviewers are not eligible to be nominated for the award and must remove themselves from award deliberations if they have submitted a letter of support for any of the applicants. There will not be more than one Award each year and the Nomination Committee retains the right to provide the award annually.

Award Recognition

The awardee will be recognized with a commemorative plaque and $1,000 USD honorarium. He/she will be invited to present an award lecture at the ICMRS Scientific Meeting.
