A postdoctoral position is available in the laboratory of Harry Kim, MD (Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at UT Southwestern and Direct of Hip Center at Scottish Rite for Children). Dr. Kim leads a very productive research team composed of material scientist, bone biologist, bioengineer, and histology and animal technologists. His NIH funded work seeks to develop new biologic and immunologic therapies for hip and joint disorders and osteoarthritis using in vivo and in vitro models. Projects related to bone tissue engineering and osteoimmunology are available for the candidate.
Essential responsibilities:
1. Design, synthesize, and characterize biomaterials and scaffolds.
2. Perform cell culture experiments and biological assays.
3. Assist with animal studies and tissue analysis.
4. Analyze and prepare presentations and manuscripts.
Prerequisite Qualifications:
Applicant must have a PhD or equivalent in Regenerative Medicine, Biological Engineering, or Materials and Polymers. Candidate with experience in biomaterials fabrication and characterization, cell culture and biological assays will be given priority for interview.
